Love At First Sit by Ysa Arcangel : A Review
Roxanne Mabini, a twenty-five-year-old single mother of twins, joined a speed-dating event just for fun and to get “speed-dating” checked off her bucket list. She wasn’t looking for anything.
Until the devastatingly handsome bartender, Aloysius “Wish” Gregorio, stepped up to fill in for the lack of male participants, mesmerizing Roxanne. Literally, he was every girl’s wish.
Finally, she’s met a man who shares her interests. But will a girl whose heart has been shred to pieces learn to trust and love again?
When Roxanne’s first love and the father of her children, Chris, drops back into her life, old flames reignite. Chris has been waiting for the right time ever since he was forced to leave her, and now he aims to win her back.
Will the chemistry and powerful connection between Roxanne and Wish be strong enough to fight the old flame that is once again burning bright?
Roxanne must make a big decision: provide a complete family to her children, or share her life with her heart’s desire. Will she find love, lose it, or know when to walk away?
The author has generously given me the copy in exchange for an honest review.
The story opened with Roxanne as she struggled to get through a speed dating event her friend made her join. In the event she met Wish, a sexy, tattooed but gentle bar tender. Things seemed to hit off between them but before they knew it, Roxanne’s ex and the father of her twins made a comeback in her life. Who was she going to choose then?
This book accurately portrayed the events that happen to a young single mom trying to survive the harsh reality that is life. The author showed that it is hard to raise children especially if the father wasn’t around. But it is harder to fall in love when society and prejudices manifest to come between new lovers.
This was true with Wish and Roxanne. Their attraction to each other that could have led to a new relationship was a few times thwarted mostly because of Roxanne’s former boyfriend who happened to be the father of her kids too.
The great thing about this novel is that it is honest. I appreciated this honesty with how Roxanne’s reaction toward her ex was portrayed. It is always hard to choose between two loves. It can get ugly. I also liked that Wish was very much honest with how he felt for Roxanne and he told her upfront of his intentions toward her. He was also very selfless and generous when she said she needed time.
This is a good book to read if you want to revel in second chances. To live life in love again. And to prove that love exists for everyone no matter what life had made us experience.
