Review : Keep The Faith by Ana Tejano

Blog Tour!

This time I’m going to feature this very wonderful book about mending broken hearts.

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was “Oh my god. I’m going to kidnap Nico!” This man is just too precious …. okay, I have to take a breath. Haha!
So that said, this novel is quite straightforward. It shows coping and moving on from a very crushing event in our lives. Sigh. Yes, breakups. We all had that. But just as the book said this is not just about recovering from a break up. This shows how we clamor for normalcy after a death of a loved one, over a disappointment over a person or an expectation, over the longing for the past to come back but finding the truth that we can’t do it.

It is hard to face but we can’t do anything else but to move on. I certainly experienced the same thing when my younger sister passed away a few years ago. It was almost like a dream but you know that it is actually a nightmare.
What I like about the story is that is very encouraging and positive. For all the dark around us, there will always, always going to be light. We can have help from people around us or from something we love doing but ultimately, it should come from us.

And what a wonderful support group Faith has. Her family and friends got her back no matter what and it’s always important. Not everyone has that. But of course she has the best support in the form of Nico. I swear this man is like my nth book crush. Where do I find Nico again? Can I get him from you, French Fries? Lol ~

I also want to stress the light the book shed on people who help out other people from their hearts. It takes a really strong will, dedication and spirit to have a job that puts others over oneself. I have the utmost respect for them.
But seriously, this book is just the perfect book for anyone who wants to read the truth about recovery and acceptance. Like what Nico and Faith learned, we need to accept things we can’t change and trust in ourselves. We all need a little faith in others and more in ourselves.

About the book.

Book Title: Keep the Faith

Release Date: July 31, 2016

Author: Ana Tejano

About the Book:

As a community development worker, Faith was quite familiar with heartbreak and recovery after all the time she spent on disaster relief missions. So when her five-year relationship ends right before she left for a mission trip to a typhoon-stricken town in Iloilo, she tries not to make a big deal out of it. How can she be broken up about a breakup when she’s with people who literally lost everything?

But now that she’s back, all Faith wants is for her life to go back to normal and have people stop looking at her with pity. Never mind that she still has a lot of questions about the breakup, or that she feels a tiny ache every time her ex comes up in conversations. She’s okay now, and happily distracted by Nico Tamayo, the attractive new guy at work.

With new possibilities in the horizon, Faith thinks she is well on her way to moving on. But when her past comes calling back to her, will all the good things in her present be enough to keep her on the path? Or will she finally learn that there was more to heartbreak and recovery than what she knows?
